Unlike some others, our Status aluminium bifolds are supplied as a complete package. In other words, they come with everything you need pre-machined, pre-glazed, and ready-to-assemble. You might find similar-looking, cheaper door sets, but they don’t often make installation as easy, whereas our Ready-to-Assemble Sets offer you many advantages:

  • Comprehensive, easy-to-follow fitting instructions.
  • Doors and frames clearly labelled for easy identification.
  • Pre-glazed, tow and heeled options, meaning an experienced fitter is not required.
  • Fully factory assembled frame option, where speed and simplicity is essential.
  • Everything is fully pre-machined, no specialist equipment is required.
  • Door gaskets are pre-fitted, along with the majority of the hardware.
  • Optional fitting kit available - includes all fixings and drill bits in one convenient pack.

HOW TO INSTALL ALUMINIUM EXTERNAL BIFOLDS

Product Description

The Vufold Status range of aluminium bi-fold doors are high performing, ensuring exceptional quality, security, and thermal efficiency. With slim sightlines, this black, double glazed, 4.8M, 5 door aluminium bi-fold door set is sleek and contemporary in looks.

The Status bifold doors undergo extensive weather testing to meet the highest standards. They feature a unique Thermlock thermal break technology, providing exceptional thermal efficiency. Along with 28mm double glazing using low-e glass and argon gas-filled units, this door set achieves a complete product U-value of 1.4 W/m²K. U-values are more difficult to achieve but a much better indicator of thermal efficiency than the new window and door energy ratings.

Additional features such as pre-gasketed clip-in glazing beads make installation much quicker and easier, saving you time and money. The remarkable high-tech roller design ensures years of effortless opening and closing, keeping your home secure and weatherproof throughout the year. For maximum security the black aluminium 4.8M Status has a multi-point locking system including top and bottom hook locks, that passes the rigorous PAS 24 certification. And for added security, there are also extra twin point security bolts operated by an internal key locking handle.

  • What is the guarantee?

    Status doors come with a 15 year guarantee.

  • How high is the threshold?

    The threshold if not using a drip sill is 30mm and 50mm with a drip sill. Detailed frame section drawings and dimensions can be found in the 'Downloads And Manuals' tab of the product info.

  • Do Vufold do installation?

    Vufold do not offer an installation service all our sets are designed to be easily installed by a local tradesperson or competent DIYer.

  • What is the sightline?

    Status bifolds glass to glass sightline is only 123mm

  • Do you do custom sizes?

    Yes we can do custom Status Bifold door sizes, follow the link to our Status custom quote form.

  • What security do Vufold doors have?

    All Vufold external doors have high levels of security. They will surpass the requirements of building regulations and insurance companies. 

  • What is the u-value? 

    Double glazed is 1.4w2k and triple glazed is 1.0w2k.
