John Collins - Managing Director

Author: John Collins - Managing Director

Heritage internal doors, also known as AluSpace internal doors here at Vufold, are characterised by their slim frames, art-deco inspired design and industrial style. Their look makes them a versatile option for both traditional and contemporary homes, maximising natural light. With different types available, it can be difficult to decide which option is best for you.

Our guide will explore the different types of Heritage internal doors stocked at Vufold, highlighting their benefits and the best homes and spaces they would suit.

Internal Heritage Bifold Doors

Heritage bifold doors are a great choice for internal use, and differ from standard bifold doors primarily in their design. Heritage bifold doors have:

  • Better natural light due to slimmer frames and large glass panes

  • Space-saving properties

  • The ability to create a flexible living space

  • Timeless style

Our wooden internal Heritage doors here at Vufold are warm, space-saving and traditional, with a premium look that suits all interiors. However, other options such as aluminium bifold doors, uPVC bifold doors, pocket doors and solid internal doors each have their pros and cons that need to be considered before you settle on your choice. You can find out more in our previous guide here.

Internal Heritage French Doors

Aluspace aluminium Internal French doors are a modern take on classic French doors, with a grid-style layout and slim sightlines for an effortless, practical look.

Internal Heritage French doors provide an effective division of space, letting in more natural light through rooms to create a more comfortable living space. Heritage French doors also have a modern aesthetic appeal, and their aluminium frames ensure they are incredibly durable, withstanding wear and tear.

Our Heritage doors here at Vufold come in various sizes, starting with 1.2m x 2.08m all the way up to 3m x 2.38m. These sizes can be determined by whether you opt for a fanlight or not. We can, however, create custom designs with different sizing options, which you can enquire about here. Other customisable features include:

  • The colour of the frames

  • Glazing choice – choose between clear glass (which comes as standard) or partially to fully reeded glass.

  • Handles – matte black straight level handles come as standard, but you can choose from different options.

  • Locks – our Heritage doors don’t come with locks as standard, but they can be added for extra security.

Internal Heritage Sliding Doors

Heritage internal sliding doors are the perfect space-saving option for any home. Brandishing that distinguished steel-look design, internal Heritage sliding doors are a practical choice for separating rooms without blocking off natural light. Their aluminium slim frames and powder-coated finishes ensure their durability for years to come, making them ideal for high-traffic areas in your home.

Choosing the right internal sliding doors for your home depends on several factors, including:

  • Available floor space and size – sliding doors are perfect for smaller homes, but larger options are available if you have the wall space.

  • Number of panels needed – the more glass panels, the more natural light available.

  • Privacy needs – reeded glass is available in our Heritage internal sliding doors at Vufold, perfect for home offices.

  • Existing interiors – choosing the right finish is essential to ensure your doors match your existing decor.

Heritage sliding doors provide a plethora of benefits, including their attractive space-saving properties, flexible living support, stylish design and durability. Pricing at Vufold ranges from £1,359 to £2,939, but this can be affected by size, glazing choice and any optional extras. If you choose reeded glass over standard clear glass, handles that aren’t recessed pull handles or an installation kit, optional fees may occur.

You can find out more about Heritage internal sliding doors in our previous guide here.

Internal Heritage Single Doors

Like all Heritage internal doors, single doors present that steel-look design that makes them stand out. There are many benefits to Heritage internal single doors, such as:

  • Timeless design – perfect for modern and traditional homes, they are much more welcoming in internal spaces than solid wood doors.
  • Better natural light – ideal for rooms that have no windows.
  • Good thermal performance – although this isn’t as important as it is with external doors, it will aid with thermal performance and sound insulation.
  • Durable: aluminium frames are resistant to warping.
  • Ideal for small spaces: Heritage single doors ensure you don’t have to compromise on style simply because you have a smaller space to work with.

Internal single doors are the cheapest Heritage doors we stock due to their smaller size, but their price can increase due to optional extras such as locks, fanlights and reeded glass. Our cheapest door starts at £919 and measures 0.6m x 2.84m, and our largest single door costs £2,596, but this door has fanlights and sidelights, measuring 2.7m x 2.38m. We also offer bespoke internal Heritage single doors, which you can build here.
