Seamless appearence created by sinking the cill into the floor

When choosing bi-folds to fit a wider space we often recommend using a bottom track as part of the installation for added stability. Sometimes customers are put off by the thought of having a step, however the seamless appearance can be achieved by setting the bottom track into the floor. This is exactly what Valerie Morgan opted to do when she purchased her 2.1m Edge Oak internal bi-folds with a bottom track from us for her new extension, providing a specious open-plan feel, but with the flexibility of creating a cosier environment when required.

Valerie’s design stipulated that the bottom track was incorporated into the floor, at the join between her lounge and kitchen diner, avoiding the need for a step while ensuring the utmost stability. Wanting the flexibility to be able to close off the two spaces when necessary, but also secure the doors open at times for the open-plan look, Valerie selected a Door Catch kit and also a stainless steel door handle from our accessories range to complete the look.
