Project Overview
This project showcases how anthracite grey external bifold doors can transform a modern rear extension while creating a seamless connection between the home and garden. Installed for homeowner James Jennings in May 2024, the project combined a set of Vufold external bifold doors with a matching glazed access door and top-opening window to maximise natural light and provide flexible access to the outdoor space.
Set within a contemporary red brick wraparound extension, the anthracite grey finish provides a striking contrast against the brickwork while complementing the property's modern design. The large glazed opening floods the new living area with daylight and allows the family to enjoy uninterrupted views of the garden throughout the year.

The Project
As part of a wraparound extension, James wanted to create an open-plan living space that flowed naturally into the garden. Maximising the width of the opening was an important part of the design, allowing the bifold doors to open almost completely during warmer weather while still providing excellent thermal performance throughout the colder months.
Alongside the bifold doors, a matching glazed personnel door with a top-opening window was installed to provide convenient everyday access without needing to fully open the bifold system.
