DIFFERENCE BETWEEN FOLDING SLIDING DOORS & BIFOLD DOORS
The market today offers a variety of types, styles and sizes of
folding doors, such as; sliding, bifold and trifold doors. All of these technical terms may become confusing when looking for that perfect bifold door to complement your
internal or
external living space.

There is often a common miss-conception that all of these terms have the same meaning. However, although all of these different terms refer to the function of the door, each type of door has its own unique build. Trifold doors, meaning ‘three folding doors’ where
bifold doors are a folding door unit that fold in pairs – 'two folding doors', with either two doors folding to one side or with bifold doors that fold in the centre and have two bifold doors either side. Folding doors like bifold doors and trifold doors eliminate the issue of restrictive acces as the structured configuration allows the doors to slide fully across to maximise space. Folding bifold doors also referred to as accordion or concertina doors, which have multiple door panels that fold upon on each other. Vufold offer a large range of up to six folding doors to fit from 6ft to 16ft spaces. These doors can be used in small restricting areas to add space as well as large areas where a swinging door would be cumbersome. Folding doors combine the action of both hinged and sliding doors.
Folding sliding doors combine the functionality with the added benefit of sitting on a moving track. A standard sliding door often provides access by allowing only one entrance door to open, this is useful for day to day living. Vufold’s range of folding sliding doors allow the internal or outdoor living space to open out and create one multifunctional living area. Patio doors are also a generic term used for doors opening out onto a deck, garden or patio. These can come in the two forms, sliding doors and French doors. French doors can be hung as a single or double unit, Vufold offer a range of
oak french doors /
patio doors that can either open into your living area or out onto your garden, patio or decking.
