NEW - PRE FINISHING

Vufold sets are now available totally factory pre finished using the World renowned Sikkens range of woodstains, and paints. Sikkens woodstains and paints are microporous or breathable, which means if the decorative finish is always maintained, the finish will not peel, crack or suffer from premature erosion of the film.

FACTORY PRE FINISHING

For the first coat the doors and frames are coated with the Sikkens basecoat to ensure all parts of the door and frame are coated.

For the second coat a top coat is sprayed onto the product, having first used special Sikkens Kodrin products to completely seal the ends of the woodgrain and all the joints. Again all parts of the product are coated INSIDE and OUT.

Finally a second top coat is sprayed, inside and out, to ensure all parts of your Vufold set are protected. Sikkens products are widely available from retail stores all over the United Kingdom and Ireland when re coating is required or to ‘touch up’ any small scratches or scuffs.

VUFOLD FINISHES AVAILABLE

Natural Oak

This is a clear finish, which is currently extremely fashionable and popular as it permits the natural beauty of the Oak to show through. Three coats of Sikkens are used to provide protection to the product.

Note – the clear finishes offer less UV protection than Sikkens woodstain or paint finishes, which have more pigment and therefore protection against UV, so the clear sets require re coating more regularly than the woodstain and paint, to maintain the protection of your Vufold. Average re-coating every 12 months depending on set location. If longer maintenance schedules are preferred, re coat with any colour from the Sikkens Filter 7 Translucent range.

Hardwood Finish

This is a warm brown hardwood finish using a Sikkens translucent woodstain.
Offers very good protection against UV with average re coating 2 to 5 years depending on location See Sikkens Guarantee for details.

White Paint
This is a bright White Paint finish from the Sikkens opaque range of wood finishes. Offers very good protection against UV, with average re coating every 5 years depending on location. See Sikkens guarantee for details.

Want a different Colour?

Either purchase a Vufold White Oak Unfinished set and you can choose any colour from the Sikkens range of HLS basecoats and Cetol Filter 7 top coats or alternatively purchase a Natural Oak set and then re coat with any colour from the Sikkens Filter 7 Translucent range.
